The Inclusive Youth Fly Fishing Clinic is a hands-on, supportive program designed to help learners in the Roaring Fork Valley build meaningful social and emotional connections with the aquatic ecosystem of the watershed they call home. Through small learning teams made up of youth with different abilities and learning styles, participants explore fly fishing as a way to learn, connect, and explore alongside their peers.
This three-day clinic introduces learners to fish, insects, gear, casting, and responsible fishing practices before giving them the chance to put their skills into action on the water. More than just learning to fish, the clinic uses fly fishing as a vehicle for confidence, friendship, belonging, and stewardship—helping young people deepen their relationship with the river and the community around it.
- Open to participants in 5th – 8th grade with a maximum of 12 participants
- Scholarships available for all participants, only a $50 registration fee
- Participants are expected to bring the following items to the clinic each day:
- Weather appropriate clothing (comfortable outdoor clothes, rain jacket) close-toed shoes, water bottle, sunscreen, sunglasses, sun hat, snack, and any necessary medications
- All other equipment will be provided!
This Inclusive Youth Fly Fishing Clinic is facilitated by the Growth Early Childhood Group, and jointly funded by Cathi’s Table and Automobili Rally.
