On-Water Trainings for Commerical River Guides
Each spring Roaring Fork Conservancy offers sessions of its River Guide School to local river outfitters. These three-hour on-water trainings allow dozens of commercial river guides each year to learn about the Roaring Fork Watershed's health, flora, fauna, water issues, plumbing, and cultural history. Trainings are discussion-oriented and tailored to meet interests and needs of the participating guides. Each guide receives a packet with informational sheets and resources as a diploma. Pitkin County Open Space & Trails partially underwrites the River Guide School. Thanks to the participating companies who continue to make the River Guide School a success.
To participate in this spring's River Guide School, please contact Tim O'Keefe at Roaring Fork Conservancy at (970) 927-1290.
