I am writing to encourage members of the Colorado River District, Ruedi Water & Power Authority and their representative jurisdictions to oppose efforts to mine water for bottling within their jurisdiction. I recently saw the film Tapped that exposes some of the health, economic and environmental ills of bottled water. I worry that bottled water companies may come into the Roaring Fork Watershed and try to exploit our precious water resources to the detriment of our people, economy and wildlife. Please oppose any efforts to extract ground or surface water for bottling.

I am writing to encourage members of the Colorado River District, Ruedi Water & Power Authority and their representative jurisdictions to consider banning the purchase of bottled water at their government facilities and by their staff. I recently saw the film Tapped that exposes some of the health, economic and environmental ills of bottled water. Our local tap water is some of the cleanest, healthiest water in the world. I want to encourage local governments to use local tap water at meetings, events and throughout their government offices and facilities. This will not only save local governments vast amounts of money, but will support our local water delivery infrastructure and keep tons of waste out of our local landfills.
