We pride ourselves with providing science education in the field. We have 30 teaching sites within the Roaring Fork Watershed that we use. It has been proven that students learn the most from hands-on, interactive, exploratory, relevant experiences in the field. Hands-on inquiry science education gives students the opportunity to gain real experiences that are relevant to where they live.

Walking to Field Sites Many schools are located within walking distance of great field teaching sites. In order to conserve fuel, limit emmisions, and transportation costs, please consider a site that is within walking distance of your school location.
Field Trip Tours Taking tours of local water resource sites can be very educational and fun. Some of these sites include:
Carbondale & Glenwood Springs Fish Hatcheries
Wastewater Treatment Facilities
Ruedi & Shoshone Hydro-electric Power plants
City Water Treatment Facilities
We can help to coordinate with these places to take students on field trips. We can also provide pre and post trip lessons to enrich the learning experience.
