Insectopia: Exploring the World of Aquatic Insects
Learn aquatic insect anatomy, life cycles, and habitat by collecting, observing and drawing watery bugs.  Discover more about insects and their importance in the river ecosystem.  Use nets to catch the insects and field scopes to study these creatures closely. Setting: Field (preferred) or Classroom

River Critters Puppet Show
Learn about animals that live in the riparian areas as well as in the river through a fun puppet show. Setting: Classroom

Busy Beavers
Beavers are amazing animals.  Learn the body parts of a beaver, adaptations, about their homes, and what they eat.  Maybe even wear a beaver costume! Setting: Field (prefered) or Classroom

Seasons of the River
Learn about the seasonal cycles of plants, animals, and the river itself using drama, stories, and exploration activities. Setting: Classroom or Field

Captain Cutthroat
Learn about trout body parts, adaptations, behavior and habitat needs through singing, playing a card game, and completing a drawing exercise. Captain Cutthroat may also make a guest appearance.Setting: Classroom

Pond Ecology
Explore the life of a pond. Learn about the animals that live in and around ponds. Use field equipment and keys to look closer at pond life. Setting: Field

Sensory River Exploration
Learn about the river through a variety of sensory activities, games, insect collection, and story telling.Setting: Field

Riparian Birding
Learn how to identify birds near rivers and lakes using descriptive terms and anatomy before focusing on their names. Explore adaptations and behavior by using observational skills.Setting: Field
