The Fryingpan-Arkansas Project provides water to the Arkansas River Basin and the cities of Aurora and Colorado Springs through a series of diversions structures on the western slope that take water through the Charles H. Boustead Tunnel and the Busk-Ivanhoe Tunnel. The project is managed by the U.S. Bureau of Reclamation and Southeastern Colorado Water Conservancy District. Currently the project diverts about 58,000 acre feet of water annually.
