Twin Lakes Tunnel & Diversion Tour

Learn firsthand how water is collected from the headwaters of the Roaring Fork River and diverted under the Continental Divide to Front Range cities and farms. Join staff from Twin Lakes Reservoir & Canal Company and RFC for this informative tour of the tunnels, dams and ditches that move water east. We’ll spend the first part of our tour visiting Lost Man Reservoir and the Roaring Fork collection dam & tunnel. Later, we’ll hop into Blazing Adventure’s jeeps and ride 6 miles on Lincoln Creek Road to explore Grizzly Reservoir and the four-mile long Twin Lakes tunnel that brings 40% of the Roaring Fork River’s water above Aspen, to the eastern slope. Please bring water, snacks, lunch and questions for our experts about the plumbing of the Roaring Fork headwaters.

Please dress appropriately, including closed-toed shoes, as the tour will happen rain or shine.
