Shaylyn Austin, Science & Policy Intern

Shaylyn earned a Bachelor of Science from the University of Michigan in environmental studies, with a focus in the social dimensions of conservation ecology. Her previous work in river basins include a summer conducting turtle surveys along the Missouri River and a research project investigating the potential impacts of a dam on the fish communities of a Panamian river. Shaylyn recently moved to the Roaring Fork Valley and she’s excited to work with RFC to hopefully contribute to a better understanding of the Roaring Fork Watershed, while also learning as much as she can about water science and policy of the western slope. In her free time, Shaylyn loves to hike, read, and bake chocolate chip cookies.
